Copyright / DMCA Policy

Last updated: October 2026

1. Scope

This policy covers content uploaded by users of Hamia's products, including course material, intro videos, resumes, and images uploaded by a Hamia Education teacher or student. If you believe content on Hamia infringes your copyright, this page explains how to tell us and what happens next.

2. Filing a Takedown Notice

Send a written notice to dmca@hamia.io that includes:

  • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or someone authorized to act on their behalf
  • Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
  • Identification of the specific material you claim is infringing, and information reasonably sufficient to let us locate it (a real URL, class link, or course code, for example)
  • Your contact information: name, address, telephone number, and email address
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
  • A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf

An incomplete notice may delay review — the elements above are what a valid notice needs under US law (17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3)).

3. Our Review and Removal Process

We review every real notice we receive. Once we confirm a notice is complete, we remove or disable access to the identified material, and notify the user who uploaded it, telling them what was removed and why, and forwarding a copy of the notice. Repeat confirmed infringers may have their account suspended or terminated.

4. Counter-Notice

If you believe your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to dmca@hamia.io that includes:

  • Your physical or electronic signature
  • Identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification
  • Your name, address, telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district, or if outside the US, to the jurisdiction described in our Terms of Service

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the material within the timeframe required by law unless the original complainant files a court action first.

5. False Claims

Filing a knowingly false takedown notice or counter-notice can carry real legal liability under applicable law. Please only file a notice if you genuinely believe, in good faith, that it is accurate.

6. Contact Us

Send all notices to dmca@hamia.io. For anything else, see Terms of Service or Privacy Policy.
